Investment Management Forum 2022

The Investment Management Forum is EFAMA’s flagship event, bringing together industry leaders, investors and policymakers to discuss topics of common interest and importance.

The conference took place at the Chancellerie Auditorium of BNP Paribas Fortis in Brussels and was held in-person only.

The asset management industry is in a position to offer solutions to the many challenges lying ahead, and turn them into opportunities; this includes providing fair and equitable access to data, empowering investors, advancing the sustainability agenda, financing infrastructures and working to safeguard a competitive Europe in times of global interconnectedness.

Now in its 28th edition, this year’s event was a unique opportunity to present the state of European investment management industry and how it can contribute to the sustainable finance, CMU and post-Covid recovery objective of the EU.

The conference took place on Thursday, 17 and Friday, 18 November, with a programme featuring keynote speeches, an exclusive CEO panel, panel sessions and presentations.

Registration is now closed.

Panel : Being responsible stewards in times of change: the key to unlocking the power of investors?

The panel will discuss the role of asset managers as stewards of the companies in which they invest and their ability to improve the investee companies’, economic, environmental, social and governance performance.

In times of unprecedented environmental and societal change, asset managers are faced with ever-increasing investors’ expectations going beyond mere financial returns. Large coalitions of asset owners and managers are being built, shareholder activism is on the rise, regulatory expectations are evolving and period engagement reports are being produced. The panel will debate how regulations have influenced stewardship initiatives the effectiveness of these initiatives, how the role of asset managers can be further leveraged to drive change at investee companies and whether the views and expectations of the end investors are sufficiently taken into account particularly if invested in a pooled fund.
