Verena Ross is the Chair of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). She took up the role on 1 November 2021 and is responsible for representing the Authority as well as preparing the work of and chairing its Board of Supervisors and Management Board.
Between 2011 and 2021 Verena Ross served as ESMA’s first Executive Director, when she was responsible for building up the organisation and overseeing its day to day running.
Prior to this, Verena held a number of senior posts in the UK’s Financial Services Authority (FSA) and was a member of the FSA’s Executive Committee. Verena joined the FSA in 1998 to run the Executive Chairman’s office during the regulator’s start-up phase and was briefly a seconded advisor to the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission in 2000. She held various positions in the FSA’s Markets Division and was Director of Strategy & Risk Division before becoming Director of the International Division.
Verena is a German national. Following studies in Sinology and Economics in Hamburg, Taipei and London (SOAS) she began her career at the Bank of England in 1994, where she worked as an economist and banking supervisor.
John Berrigan is the Director-General of the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) of the European Commission.
DG FISMA is responsible for EU-level policy-making and legislative initiatives with respect to the financial sector, including Banking Union, Capital Markets Union, sustainable finance, digital finance, anti-money laundering and sanctions. In this context, John represents the European Commission on the Economic and Financial Committee and the Financial Services Committee, which report to EU Finance Ministers. He also represents the Commission on the Financial Stability Board, which reports to G20 Finance Ministers. He attends the European Systemic Risk Board and is a permanent observer on the Single Resolution Board.
John has a master’s degree in economics from University College Dublin. He is married with two children.
Petra is the Chairperson of EIOPA and has been leading the Authority since September 2021, following her appointment by the Council on 27 May 2021 after confirmation by the European Parliament on 18 May 2021.
Petra is also member of the ESRB Steering Committee and the ESRB General Board and a voting member of the IAIS Executive Committee. Besides that she is the Champion of the IAIS Fintech Forum.
Prior to this role Petra was Division Director of Insurance Supervision at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB, the Dutch Central Bank). Petra joined DNB in February 2007 as a policy advisor, contributing to the development of Solvency II. In 2013 she became Head Insurance Policy and in 2015 she was appointed as Head of the DNB Expert Center for Fit & Proper assessments. In February 2017 Petra started as Director of Payments and Market. Prior to joining the Dutch Central Bank Petra had an international career as a financial advisor to emerging economies.
Prior to being appointed as EIOPA Chairperson Petra was an Alternate Member of the EIOPA Board of Supervisors. She was also the Chair of the EIOPA Policy Committee. Before that she participated in several EIOPA and CEIOPS working groups and fulfilled some international roles including Chair of the FSB fmiCBCM (recovery & resolution for CCPs), member of the BIS Committee for Payments and Market Infrastructures, member of the ECB Market Infrastructures Board, and member of the IAIS Technical Committee.
Petra has a European Masters in Law & Economics and a Masters in Russian Studies. She is married and proud mother of three children.
Stéphanie Yon-Courtin is a Member of the European Parliament (Renew Group), Vice-President of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) and substitute member of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO), on the Fisheries (PECH) and of the sub-committee on taxation (FISC). She was rapporteur for the 2019 annual competition policy report and shadow rapporteur for the 2020 report on the Capital Markets Union. She is also Chair of the delegation for relations with Canada and a member of the delegation for relations with the United States.
Stéphanie is also a member of the Calvados Departmental Council. Prior to her election as an MEP in 2019, she was Mayor of Saint-Contest, and a Vice-President of the urban community Caen la Mer.
Prior to that, Stéphanie worked as an advisor on international affairs in the office of Bruno Lasserre, former President of the French Competition Authority. She was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2004, specialising in competition law, and worked in international law firms. She also worked as a legal expert in the European Commission.
Stéphanie holds a Master’s degree in law from the Universities of Caen and Bristol, and a Master’s degree in European Business Law from the Institute of European Studies.
She is 45 years old, married and mother of two children. She is president of the association “Caen les femmes” created in 2011. She has been a regular contributor to the international political section of the journal Concurrences.
Belén Blanco, CFA, CESGA is the Head of BBVA Asset Management Europe.
Prior to that, from 2012 to 2023, Belén was the global Head of Quality Funds, the BBVA Platform specialized in International Investment Funds,
and Member of the BBVA Asset Management & Global Wealth
Management Committee.
Ms. Blanco joined BBVA in 1995 and she has held several different
positions that have let her become an expert in the Investment World.
Ms. Blanco earned a JD degree in Law and a BA in Economics
(Universidad Pontificia de Comillas), a Master in High European Studies (College of Europe, Belgium) and an Executive Master in Quantitative
Finance (AFI, Madrid). She is CFA Charterholder, CAd and CESGA.
A graduate of Economics from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, he began his professional career in 1986 at Banque Indosuez Paris, where he worked for three years as a financial analyst in the Investment Research Department before moving on to head Banque Indosuez Jakarta until 1991. He subsequently returned to Banque Indosuez Paris, from 1991 to 1995, where he began working in Wealth Management for international customers and Wealth Engineering.
In 1995, he attended the International Executive Programme at INSEAD (Fontainbleau – France), subsequently becoming Managing Director of Fiduciaria Indosuez SIM S.p.A. and Managing Director and General Manager of Crédit Agricole Indosuez Private Banking S.p.A. until 2005 in Milano. At the same time, he took on the role of Managing Director of Finanziaria Indosuez Ltd. in Lugano.
He was Deputy General Manager of Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking S.p.A. from 2005 to 2015 and Managing Director of Sirefid S.p.A. from 2005 to 2010.
He was appointed Chair of the Board of Directors of Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking Suisse S.A. for two years, from 2011 to 2012.
From 2015 to February 2020 he was Managing Director of Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking S.p.A..
In January 2020 he was appointed Head of the Asset Management Division of Intesa Sanpaolo Group.

Joseph joined M&G plc in March 2023 as Chief Executive Officer of M&G Asset Management and became a member of M&G’s Group Executive Committee, reporting to Group Chief Executive, Andrea Rossi.
Joseph has accountability for all investment capabilities including the equity, fixed income, multi asset, private and alternative asset strategies alongside distribution, operations and proposition management across the Asset Management business.
With 31 years of experience in asset management, financial services, and consulting, Joseph joined from Natixis Investment Managers where he served as Head of Distribution and Investment Solutions for EMEA, APAC and LATAM and Global Chief Operating Officer.
Previously at AXA Investment Managers for 13 years, Joseph held senior positions, including Global Chief Operating Officer, Global Head of Markets & Investment Strategy and Head of Business Development for Southern Europe and the Middle East.
Ann Prendergast is executive vice president and head of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region for State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street. She is a member of the State Street Global Advisors Operating Group and chairs the EMEA Executive Committee.
In her role, Ann has responsibility for spearheading the firm’s growth aspirations in EMEA and providing oversight for our broader activities in the region. She brings deep knowledge and understanding of our business to her role, having spent more than two decades of her career with State Street Global Advisors.
Previously, Ann was chief executive officer of State Street Global Advisors Europe Ltd, the entity with responsibility for State Street Global Advisors European Union businesses. Earlier, she led the sales and marketing team for the Irish market, having joined the organization in 2000.
Prior to joining us, Ann worked for the Bank of Ireland Group in both their fund administration and private banking divisions.
Ann holds a degrees in business studies from the University of Limerick, is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is a Certified Investment Fund Director (CIFD).”
Harald Waiglein joined the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance in 2007 and, after having worked in various areas including taxes and the political offices of two Ministers of Finance, was appointed Director General for Economic Policy and Financial Markets in 2012. His current responsibilities include Ecofin and Eurogroup affairs, international financial institutions, export credit agencies, development assistance, macroeconomic analysis and advice as well as financial markets regulation. His numerous international functions include the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), Chairman of the EU Financial Services Committee (FSC), and Chairman of the Board Risk Committee of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). Before joining the Ministry of Finance, Mr Waiglein worked as a financial journalist and professional interpreter and translator. He holds a master’s degree in finance and financial law from the University of London, and a master’s degree in interpretation and translation from the University of Vienna.
Sandro is CEO of BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) and President of EFAMA. He has over 32 years of experience in the asset management industry.
Sandro started with BNPP AM in 2017 as Head of Global Client Group. He was appointed CEO in July 2021 and President of EFAMA since June 2023. Prior to joining the firm, Sandro was Chief Executive Officer at Pioneer Investments. Between 2004 and 2012, Sandro held various senior positions at Pioneer Investments, including Head of Western Europe and International, Chief Executive Officer of Pioneer Investments Italy and Head of International Distribution. Before joining Pioneer Investments, Sandro was Chief Executive Officer of Pixel Investment Management, and preceding that, Chief Executive Officer of ING Italy Retail. He began his career in 1989 as a US Equity Manager for San Paolo Fondi.
Sandro holds a degree in Economics from Universita degli Studi di Torino, in Italy.
Thomas Richter was born on 8 June 1966 in Ansbach. He studied law and French in Augsburg and France, worked for a law firm in Toronto and is a certified stock exchange trader and investment analyst DVFA/CEFA.
From 1995 to 1998, Thomas worked at Deutsche Börse AG and then in several executive positions at DWS until 2007. From 2007 to 2010, he was a member of the Executive Board of DWS and a member of the BVI Board. In 2010 he was appointed as CEO of BVI.
Thomas Richter is a member of the Administrative Council of BaFin, of ESMA’s Securities and Markets Stakeholder Group and of the advisory board for Financial Markets Monitoring of the Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband (vzbv). He is a board member of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) and also on the Board of the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA).

Annemie Rombouts is currently member of the Management Committee and Deputy Chair of the Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA – www.fsma.be). Her main operational responsibilities at the FSMA cover the supervision of listed companies, of the asset management industry and of savings and bank investment products. Annemie chaired the ESMA Corporate Reporting Standing Committee and is an alternate member of the ESMA Board of Supervisors.
Prior to the appointment in her current role and after a career start at an international law firm, Annemie held different positions at the Belgian financial regulators that preceded the FSMA. She was initially active in prudential supervision, and then evolved into the investigation of market abuse cases and into management. On the establishment of the FSMA in 2011, she was head of the legal department before being seconded as deputy chief of staff to the cabinet of the Belgian Minister of Finance, where she conducted the implementation of the EU post-crisis banking legislation into Belgian law.
Apart from her responsibilities at the FSMA, Annemie lectures at the UC Louvain and chairs the board of the Belgian mutual health insurance associations’ supervisory authority (www.ocm-cdz.be).
Massimo Greco, Managing Director, is Vice-Chair, EMEA for JPMorgan Asset Management. He is a Member of the Board of JPMorgan Asset Management (Europe) S.à r.l. as well as that of JPMorgan Investment Funds and other Luxemburg domiciled SICAVs.
A JPMorgan employee since 1992, Massimo was Head of Distribution in EMEA until March 2023.
In June 2023 Massimo was appointed Vice-President of EFAMA, he now sits on the Board of that organisation.
Tilman Lueder holds a doctorate in law from the University of Tübingen.
Before joining the European Commission in 1999, Tilman was as an associate in Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton LLP. He worked on European and German antitrust and merger control issues.
His first job in the Commission was that of a case manager dealing with antitrust and state aid cases in the area of post and telecommunications in the Directorate General for Competition (DG COMP).
In 2002, he became the spokesperson for Commissioner Mario Monti, responsible for Competition, a position he successfully held until being appointed, in 2005, Head of the Copyright Unit of the Directorate General for the Internal Market (DG MARKT).
He pursued his career to become Head of the Asset Management Unit (2011-2015) in the Directorate General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA).
From August 2015 to September 2024, Tilman headed the Securities Markets Unit in DG FISMA.
As of September 2024, Tilman heads the Insurance and Pensions Unit in DG FISMA.
Peter is since 2023 the Global Head of AI & Analytics Hub at DWS. In his role, he is responsible for identifying potential AI use cases for DWS, educating the organization on AI, and leading DWS’ AI activities end-to-end. Prior to this role, he was responsible globally for defining and driving the product strategy for DWS across its Alternatives, Active and Xtrackers/ Passive business and has built up the Product Analytics team.
Prior to joining DWS, Peter worked 2 years as a Director for 3 Lines of Defence at DB Group developing a non-financial risk management framework and 4 years in Strategy Consulting at BCG with a focus on Financial Services and Quantitative Modelling.
Peter holds a PhD in Empirical Finance with papers published in A-rated Finance journals, an MA in Economics from the US and a Diplom in Ökonomie from Germany.
Christophe BORIES a rejoint la Direction générale du Trésor en 2004. Christophe BORIES joined the French Treasury in 2004, where he has occupied several positions dealing with banking affairs, international debt management, bilateral economic relationships and summits’ preparation. He worked three years (2008/2011) for the World Bank as an economist. He was the Head of the regional economic service for Oceania and the Pacific (2015/2018) and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Bilateral Economic Relations from 2018 to 2020. He was Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multilateral Financial Affairs and Development from April 2020 to September 2023 and took up the role of Head of division of the Economic Financing Department at the General Directorate of the Treasury.
Born in Madrid in 1982, Isabel has a degree in Law and International Relations from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas of Madrid (ICADE). She spent the first years of her professional career in Washington DC, where she worked at the World Bank, implementing transparency and accountability programmes for local governments in Latin America.
In 2011, after returning to Spain and spending one year in the International Relations Department of the FAES think-tank, she decided to undertake her first business project in the tourism sector, Greatness, which she ran until 2017. In December 2018, she became Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of the Spanish People’s Party (PP) Pablo Casado. She left this position when she was elected as a Member of the European Parliament in May 2019.
In this IX legislature, she is the Vice-Chair of the Committee on Regional Development. She is also a Member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, a Member of the SME Intergroup and a Member of the URBAN Intergroup. Furthermore, she is a Member of the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee and of the Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. She is also a Substitute Member of the Committee on Culture and Education, the Delegation for relations with Japan and the Delegation to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly.
Isabel Benjumea is co-Founder of the Floridablanca Network, a Spanish liberal think-tank to which she has made numerous contributions and has written many articles about for national media. Currently, she teaches Entrepreneurial Thinking as part of the Degree of Entrepreneurship at the Francisco Marroquín University in Madrid.

Christophe Lanne began his career in 1990 with Banque Indosuez (now Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank) in the General Inspection department. In 1995, he became General Secretary for capital market activities, based in Paris, and in 1998 he was named Head of Forex/Treasury/Fixed Income, based in London. In 1999, Christophe was appointed Head of Budget and Strategy and then COO for Global Markets, and in 2002 he became Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole Indosuez Securities Japan and Head of Global Markets, based in Tokyo. Christophe joined Credit Suisse in 2005 as COO for France. He joined Natixis in 2010 as COO for Corporate & Investment Banking, and was appointed Head of Global Portfolio Management, Global Transaction Banking in 2012. He became Chief Risk Officer for Natixis in 2015, was appointed Chief Transformation & Talent Officer for Natixis Investment Managers in 2017, and then appointed Chief Administration Officer in 2021. In 2024, Christophe was appointed as Global Chief Human Resources Officer and Global Chief Operating & Transformation Officer.
A pioneer in sustainable finance, Philippe Zaouati manages Mirova, the management company that he founded in 2014 within the Natixis Group to put responsible investment at the service of environmental and social transitions.
As a committed player, he chaired the Responsible Investment Commissions of the Association française de la gestion financière (AFG, the French Asset Management Association) and the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA), and participated in the emergence of the sustainable finance theme in several international organizations, including the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN). Being mindful of making the Paris marketplace one of the leaders in greener and fairer finance, Philippe Zaouati co-founded the Finance for Tomorrow initiative in 2016, which he chaired until 2019. In 2018, he became a member of the European Commission’s High-Level Expert Group (HLEG) on Sustainable Finance, which provided a basis for European regulation on this matter.
In addition to his professional duties, Philippe Zaouati has been contributing to the political debate in France and is committed to a profound transformation of the economic and financial systems. He promotes an impact economy that strives to preserve nature. He is also the co-founder of “Osons le Progrès” and “L’Union fait le Climat”, the think tanks aimed to unite citizens, associations, and civil society players who are aware of how critical is the need to take action for the climate and biodiversity. He is a board member of WWF France, the Impact France Movement, and the Communauté des entreprises à mission [the Community of Mission-Driven Companies].
Having completed thesis work on the Manmohan Singh economic reform programme in 1990’s India, Eric Pedersen joined the United Nations as a junior economist in the Mali office of UNDP. A few years later, he moved to the finance industry and has worked in various positions, including as Head of Business Strategy for Nordea’s Asset Management and Life Insurance business, Branch manager in Singapore, and CEO of Nordea Invest (Denmark). In 2019, Eric became a member of Nordea Asset Management’s Responsible Investments Committee and in 2020, he took responsibility for the firm’s Responsible Investments team. The team has grown significantly in size and international recognition under his leadership, most recently winning the 2024 PRI Award for Climate Action. Eric has served on the Danish Committee on Corporate Governance, is the Chair of DanSIF and a member of the ISSB Investors Advisory Group, as well as being a member of the Advisory Board of IMAP – the Boston University Impact Management and Allocation Program
Christophe Gloser is Head of Distribution, Europe. He is responsible for managing our distribution business across Europe, serving the needs of our European and Latin American institutional and wholesale clients in 16 countries. He is reporting to the President.
In November 2010, Christophe was appointed Head of Sales for Fidelity in France and in September 2011 he became Country Head France. In November 2014, Christophe took over additional management responsibility for Switzerland. He was appointed Head of Wholesale Continental Europe in January 2016.
Christophe Gloser has reshaped the strategy of the European offices over the last few years through refocussing the products and services offered, and through reorganising the sales and marketing teams’ coordination to client engagement.
Christophe Gloser is chairperson of the European Distribution Committee and the Global Distribution Committee.
After starting his career as Bonds Portfolio Manager with Crédit Agricole Asset Management, Christophe joined Dresdner RCM Global Investors as Sales Director for the development of the Institutional business. He later joined Fidelity in 2001 as Sales Director for the Institutional business.
A graduate cum laude in monetary and financial economics of Bocconi University, Milan, at the EIB Aldo has been Deputy Head of Funding, Euro, from 2001 to 2018 and Head of Sustainability Funding from 2018 to 2022, developing EIB’s core funding instruments in Euro: “EARNs”, “EPOS” and “ECoops”. In 2007, he shaped and executed the transaction with which the EIB inaugurated the green bond market, subsequently promoting best practice in working groups of ICMA’s Green Bond Principles (GBP), China and the EU. Within the framework of the Climate Bank Roadmap, he has driven the gradual alignment of EIB’s sustainability funding with evolving EU legislation on sustainable finance. These results have won Aldo several recognitions, e.g.: “most impressive Green/SRI bond funding official” by Global Capital in 2015/16/17/19; “Personality of the Year” by Environmental Finance in 2018; and “Australasian Market Person of the Year” by Kanganews in 2021.
In the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance, he presently chairs the workstream on the gradual application of the Taxonomy to public sector green bonds.
Wim Mijs was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the European Banking Federation in 2014.
Between 2007 and 2014 Wim served as CEO of the Dutch banking association NVB. During this tenure he transformed the NVB into a modern industry association, positioning it as the key representative of the banking sector in the wake of the financial crisis.
Wim studied law at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, specialising in European and International law. After his studies he worked at the International Court of Arbitration at the Peace Palace in The Hague. In 1993 he joined ABN AMRO in Amsterdam before moving to Brussels to head up the bank’s EU liaison office. Wim moved back to The Hague in 2002 where he became the Head of Government Affairs for ABN AMRO.
Wim is a member of the Advisory Board of Leiden Law School and the Industry Chair of the European Parliamentary Financial Services Forum (EPFSF). He is also a Board Member of the Salzburg Global Forum and additionally, serves as a Board Member of the Dutch Royal Automobile Club (KNAC).
Between 2011 and 2018, Wim held various institutional roles within the International and European financial/banking community: Chairman of the International Banking Federation; Chairman of the Executive Committee of the EBF; and Chairman of the Board of Euribor, now known as the European Money Market Institute.
Chris co-heads the Impax Sustainability Centre and is the Global Head of Policy & Advocacy at Impax Asset Management, a specialist investor focused on opportunities arising from the transition to a sustainable economy. Chris advises Impax’s investment teams on the impacts of public policy and leads the firm’s work to support the development of new policies to accelerate a net-zero, nature-positive transition.
Prior to joining Impax in 2019, Chris played pivotal role in the UK Government’s climate policy efforts. He led the UK implementation of the European carbon trading system and the UK delegation to the international climate negotiations. Chris’s extensive experience also includes supporting over 15 countries in developing their national climate commitments under the Paris Agreement during his tenure as Director of Climate Change at Ricardo Energy and Environment.
Chris is an active member of the policy committees and advisory councils of industry associations including UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) and Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC), as well as co-chairing working groups of the Transition Plan Taskforce and the Investor Policy Dialogue on Deforestation.
Chris has an MA from the University of Cambridge and an LLM in Environmental Law from University College London.
Monica is the General Counsel of CaixaBank Asset Management since October 2013, Member of the Management Body of the company since 2006. Board member of the subsidiary asset management companies BPI Gestão de Ativos in Portugal and CaixaBank Asset Management Luxembourg in Luxembourg, as well as FOGAIN in Spain.
Her current responsibilities cover management of Legal and Non-Financial Risks departments (including Reputational, Technological and Operational Risks), matters related to the Board of Directors as well as Compliance of CaixaBank AM and the coordination of the same functions at its subsidiaries.
Active member of several groups at the Asset Management industry (eg. Women in Finance Group and the Advocacy Group at CFA Society Spain), as well as mentor at different organizations and teacher in several programs. Her financial academic background includes a Master Degree in Banking Law and Financial Markets and Institutions, Master degree in Financial Analysis and Asset Management, while her university background is Telecommunications engineering. As head of the conduct of business department, William Vidonja contributes to the global and European debates on legal and consumer protection issues, including insurance distribution, data protection, differentiation, contract law, competition issues and financial education. William is also part of the employers’ delegation of the Insurance Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee (ISSDC), the only forum at European level in which insurance employer and employee representatives discuss topics of common interest with the support of the European Commission. He joined Insurance Europe as a trainee in 2002. After his traineeship he was hired as deputy manager of the insurance of the person department before moving to the conduct of business department. William is a French national and holds a law degree from the University of Paris XII.
Stefan Ruenzi is a Professor of Finance at the University of Mannheim since 2009. Before, he studied Economics at the University of Konstanz, got his PhD in finance from the University of Cologne and was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin.
Professor Ruenzi’s research areas are broad and cover empirical capital markets research, asset management, gender and diversity, sustainable finance, and financial advice. Methodologically, he mainly focuses on empirical research and machine learning applications.
He regularly publishes in the top finance journals (Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies) and presents at the leading conferences in his field. He received various prizes for his research (e.g. the German Finance Association Best Paper Award and the Engelbert Dockner Memorial Award) and his results are regularly covered in the international public press (e.g., New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, NZZ, FAZ).
Professor Ruenzi teaches in the Bachelor, Master, and PhD program as well as in MBA programs in German and English.
Nick Fitzpatrick is the group editor and co-publisher of Funds Europe – a leading publication for the European cross-border funds industry. Funds Europe’s publications also span the Middle East and Asia. Nick has carried out many CEO interviews in his time at Funds Europe and, pre-Covid, regularly travelled to speak with senior managers across the globe. His particular interests are ESG, regulation and the digital transformation taking place in the funds industry.
David has a portfolio of senior management roles in the European public affairs industry, and has advised over 50 of the world’s largest financial institutions and trade associations on their public affairs strategy, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management activities across Europe, the UK and globally. Harald Walkate is a well-known figure in sustainable finance, as a frequent contributor on LinkedIn and the author of a number of influential articles on ESG, impact investing and climate change. The former Head of responsible investment at Natixis Investment Managers and at Aegon Asset Management, he is a founding partner of Route17, an SDG funding and blended finance advisory firm. He is also a Senior Fellow with the University of Zurich Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (CSP) and a member of the ESG Advisory Committee of the UK Financial Conduct Authority, amongst a number of other advisory roles.
Jonathan is Director of Policy, Strategy and Innovation at The Investment Association (IA) and a longstanding member of the IA’s Executive Committee.
Jonathan’s role focuses on helping the investment management industry to best serve its customer markets at a time of accelerating change. The PSI Division has evolved into a multi-disciplinary and diverse team that covers a wide range of policy and regulation affecting the industry, including competition, communication, financial stability and fund governance, as well as the broader shape of pensions and long-term savings markets. It also houses a specialist Innovation and Operations Unit to assist the industry in adapting to new technologies and help shape the broader landscape.

“Ulf Herbig is Director Data & Innovation and member of the Executive Leadership Team at Kneip, part of Clearstream and Deutsche Börse Group. He has 20 years of experience in the Financial Services and Asset Management industry. Before joining Kneip he worked for Hauck & Aufhäuser Asset Management and Hauck & Aufhäuser Private Banquiers. Ulf represents Kneip in fund associations across the industry as well as at EFAMA, where he has contributed and chaired various regulatory working groups (eg. PRIIPs, Mifid II, SFDR). Just recently Ulf has been appointed as the first Chairman of EFAMAs AI Task Force.
Vincent joined EFAMA in September 2009. He is responsible for coordinating the association’s work on EU and international legislative and regulatory developments of relevance for European asset management companies and investment funds. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the asset management industry. Working previously at Fortis and as a lawyer in the field.
